harold“One day a man got into my car and just asked me to drive him away from there,” remembers Harold our Accessible Dispatch of the Week. At first, Harold thought that the man was a criminal getting away. He remembers praying, “Lord, if this man committed a crime guide me the right way and watch over me.” The man later opened up and said that his wife had just left him and had taken everything including the man’s dog. He grew up in New Jersey with his parents and siblings. His father owned a store where they could help out after school. dorisDoris, our Accessible Dispatch Driver of the Week, was born and raised in good ol’ New York. The second oldest of two boys and two girls, Doris remembers a different New York growing up – the street closures for block parties, neighborhood kids playing in the streets, people getting along and watching out for each other. This was the life of “the average family,” as Doris puts it.

This is Doris’ fourth year driving a taxi. Although countless numbers of passengers come and go, Doris’ fondest memory was of a cold winter day.…
