Tonight, London will again play host to the world’s best athletes with the lighting of the Olympic flame, parade of nations and a special welcome by the Queen of England. This time, however, Paralympic champions will be the one taking center stage.

More than 4,000 athletes will compete in the Games with a 227 member delegation coming from the United States.
